Celtica

Sell an asset

Assessed properly, positioned correctly, sold to the right buyer.

Celtica assesses, verifies, structures, positions and markets drinks-industry assets, then manages negotiations through to completion. Mandates run confidentially and are reported for the file.

Who Celtica acts for

Owners, lenders, office-holders and their advisers.

Asset owners

Private owners, investment holders and trade owners of cask, bulk, bottled or branded positions.

Distilleries and brand owners

Surplus stock, maturing inventory, discontinued lines, brand disposals and balance-sheet rationalisation.

Banks and secured lenders

Security review, independent assessment of stock taken as collateral, and controlled realisation.

Receivers

Verification of what has actually been appointed over, early assessment, and structured realisation.

Liquidators and insolvency practitioners

Bonded and duty-paid inventories, cask portfolios, brands, packaging and equipment, valued and sold with a documented process.

Accountants, solicitors and restructuring advisers

Specialist input where drinks assets sit inside a wider mandate and need to be tested rather than assumed.

Investors and family offices

Exit planning for cask and bulk positions held for investment, with a stated basis of assessment.

Warehouse and wholesale operators

Slow-moving, surplus, short-dated or orphaned stock, cleared in commercially sensible parcels.

Ordinary trading disposals

Not every sale involves distress. Much of Celtica’s work is straightforward trading: surplus stock, a parcel to clear, a brand to move on.

What Celtica does with it

From first look to completed sale.

  1. AssessScope, constraints, timescale and objectives agreed and recorded before work begins.
  2. VerifyOwnership, warehouse records, provenance, current measurements, specification and duty status established from evidence.
  3. ValueAn evidence-based commercial assessment on a stated basis, with limitations disclosed.
  4. StructureWhole or parcelled, as-is or finished, domestic or international. The route is modelled on net proceeds.
  5. PlaceQualified counterparties approached confidentially and, where possible, placed in competition.
  6. ExecuteNegotiation, conditions, duty position, movement, completion and file-ready reporting.

Evidence

What determines the number.

Price follows evidence. The more of the following that can be produced, the tighter and more defensible the assessment, and the fewer conditions a buyer will attach.

  • Ownership evidence, and confirmation that the warehouse recognises the owner
  • Warehouse records and current stock position
  • Provenance: distillery, fill date, cask type and fill history
  • Current regauge measurements, strength and litres of pure alcohol
  • Specification and any laboratory analysis
  • Duty status and movement documentation
  • Dry goods, artwork rights and brand documentation, where relevant
  • Any contractual restrictions on sale, use or market

Typical situations

What Celtica is usually instructed on.

Distillery insolvencies

Liquidations, receiverships and examinerships involving maturing cask portfolios, new-make spirit, bonded stock, brand and equipment.

Cask portfolios

Portfolios held by distilleries, investment schemes or private owners, assessed and matched to bottlers, brand owners and international buyers.

Distributor and wholesale inventories

Large bonded and duty-paid inventories across many brands, arising from failure, restructuring or ordinary rationalisation.

Brands and IP

Brands, trademarks, recipes and distribution rights, sold with a business or separately, marketed as live assets rather than residuals.

These describe categories of instruction for which Celtica’s capability is structured. They do not identify individual clients or claim specific completed outcomes.

Confidentiality

A sale process should not announce itself.

Approaches are made without signalling distress, without disclosing the seller before it is appropriate, and without releasing detail beyond what a counterparty needs at that stage. Where required, a confidentiality position is agreed before sensitive material is exchanged. Celtica publishes no inventory schedules, cask identities, client names, quantities or pricing.

Sell or assess an asset

Outline what is held and in what capacity you are enquiring. A first message does not need cask numbers or warehouse records.

Please do not include confidential client information, cask identities, warehouse records or price-sensitive detail in a first message. Celtica will agree a confidentiality position before sensitive material is exchanged.

Enquiry details are used only to respond to your enquiry. Celtica is a trading name of Hamlets B & P (Cork) Limited. See the Privacy & Cookie Notice.
